We teach Gravesend children online, and in person in Dartford, a short trip along the A2. Our lessons are live, with qualified UK teachers: Pre 11+ for Year 4, the 11+ and the Kent Test for Year 5, and KS2 SATs for Year 6.
Gravesend’s two grammar schools both put local children first, but once a child is assessed suitable they work differently: Gravesend Grammar goes by where a boy lives and then distance, while Mayfield ranks girls by their Kent Test score within each postcode area.

Grammar schools for Gravesend families
How each school gives its places once a child is assessed suitable. A cut-off is what was needed that year, not a promise for the next.
Boys living in the Borough of Gravesham come before the listed parishes, and within each group places go by distance. Once a boy is assessed suitable, his score plays no part. In March 2026 all 210 places were offered without reaching the more distant parishes.
Girls in its first list of postcodes, which includes DA11, DA12 and DA13, come before the second list; within each area places go by Kent Test score. Girls can also be assessed eligible through the school’s own Mayfield Test.
Ranks girls by their Kent Test total. Girls from outside Dartford and its named parishes compete for the places left after the local 100: the last offered for September 2026 entry had 385.
Ranks boys by their Kent Test total. Boys living outside its Priority Area compete for 50 places open to any address: the last offered for September 2026 entry had 403.
